Getting Real With Roses

The Hiring Landscape Continues to Look Positive in 2019

When it comes to hiring in 2019, the landscape continues to look positive with almost 55 percent of companies planning to hire new employees in the coming year. This would be a 9 percent increase from last year.

The survey, conducted in November with 150 companies nationwide, attributed respondent’s confidence to fewer companies citing economic fears and worries that soft demand would impinge hiring. With more companies taking advantage of the effects of a stronger economy, many are making plans to hire workers with new skill sets to accompany and support the investments they’re making in new technologies.

Continuing Labor Shortage
Increasing economic optimism accompanied by nearly full labor employment is leaving many companies vying for talent, according to Andrew Challenger, vice president of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. Throughout the nation, hiring enthusiasm is being tempered by a shortage in the labor pool. As an effect, many employers are finding themselves contending for many of the same qualified applicants in a small, yet admirable, pool of candidates. Because of this, qualified candidates are out of the running almost as quickly as they become available. As a result, those who want to hire top performers must move quickly and thoroughly through the hiring process.

Companies that are intent with keeping pace with business as usual while adding members to their workforce can benefit from working with a recruiting team to help take charge of the sourcing and initial viewing of candidates. A dedicated employment recruiting team is an asset to any business because they are always looking for qualified candidates. This means that they are prepared to help a company make a timely hiring, saving time and money in the process.
